Nigeria could be drawn in a tough group for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will hold in Russia according to a powerful tweet by World Cup draw host Gary Lineker.
This follows a tweet from the 56-year-old former English player that Nigeria who are former African champions will face Argentina, France in the group stage of the World cup.
He however confirmed he was joking after also tweeting that England will be drawn with Belgium, Senegal and Japan.
Lineker’s scenario for Nigeria is impossible as both Argentina who the Super Eagles defeated 4-2 in a recent friendly and France are both in Pot 1 and two teams from the same pot cannot be drawn against each other.
Meanwhile, the official draws for the 2018 FIFA World Cup group stages will be done by the world football governing body on December 1, 2017 in Moscow, Russia.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how the Super Eagles defeated Argentina 4-2 in a tough friendly match played in Russia.
