Ortom bows to pressure, workers suspend strike

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom yesterday, finally bowed to the pressure from leaders of organised labour unions who are protesting over huge backlog of unpaid salaries of workers with a pledge to pay them two months out of between 7 to 13 months ending the week long dispute with workers. This followed the intervention of the national leadership of the NLC, TUC and the Joint Public Negotiation Council. The unions embarked on strike to press home non-payment of workers at the state level for over seven months from March 2016...
